Jim wanted to keep the colour of the hard scape simple when designing this modern garden. By mixing colours of white, grey and black, the hard materials form a cool backdrop to the many varied and interesting plants used in the garden.

Clever selection of pavers, using white, grey, and black made this possible. The pavers are unique in their exposed finish, which includes aggregate and recycled glass. Alternating the colours of paving adds a new dimension to the space, creating interest during the day and also at night.

Feature cobbles and double chiselled wall tiles of Lava Stone break up the smooth surfaces and add texture and warmth to the courtyard area. The bar wall and pool water feature wall are clad in the double chiselled lava stone. Water cascades down the water feature into the pool below, which at night creates a shimmering effect under light.

During the day the modern garden blends well with the house. At night, innovative lighting by Light on Landscape transforms the subdued colours into an outdoor entertainment area fit for any event.
