South Yarra

This passionate gardener needed a new garden to blend with the architectural makeover given to the house by Russell Barrett Architects. The garden comprises many split-levels making it a design challenge from the beginning. In keeping with the period of the house, Bluestone was used to advantage and aged red brick details and cobbles were used to pick up on the historic value and style of the time.

A small run of lawn down the south side allows for a green area in the garden which will be shaded by a row of Ornamental Pear trees and a large existing Gingko tree.

The back garden comprises a sunken Black Bamboo courtyard which provides vertical foliage for internal house views. The front garden is formal and traditional in layout, with a blend of pebbles to add heritage feel whilst allowing rainwater to soak back into the ground.

Recently completed. Watch for more photos as the garden grows.
