When upgrading the front garden of this property, the clients wanted to reflect the period style of the house. Jim designed an Edwardian styled garden using a modern paving layout combined with traditional materials such as bluestone, and second hand red bricks. The driveway also features exposed aggregate in a custom made blend to suit the other materials.
The plants selected were common to the period, some using modern cultivars which are known for their growth and floral performance. Most plants were selected for their foliage characteristics. Jim has used lots of lush green foliage. Interesting foliage shapes make statements in the garden beds.
Garden lighting was installed by Light on Landscape, making the front entrance a feature at night. The finished result is high impact, yet simple and classy and has lifted the appeal of the entire façade of this period house.
